Chi è Comolli: il Presidente del Toulouse collegato al ruolo di CEO del Milan
Milan has been rumored to consider appointing Toulouse President and director of football Damien Comolli as their CEO. Comolli, a former scout for Arsenal, Tottenham, and Liverpool, has an extensive background in the Premier League.
Growing up playing youth football at AS Monaco’s academy, Comolli later joined the coaching staff at the club’s U16 team. He also pursued a degree in law and obtained coaching qualifications in the late 1990s. Comolli initially worked under Arsene Wenger at Monaco before reuniting with him at Arsenal, where he served as a European scout for seven seasons.
During his time at Arsenal, Comolli played a significant role in bringing notable players like Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Eboue, and Gael Clichy to the Premier League. He continued his successful recruitment efforts at Tottenham, where he was involved in signing players such as Luka Modric, Dimitar Berbatov, and David Bentley.
As the director of football at Liverpool, Comolli was credited with bringing Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll to Anfield in the January 2011 transfer window. Despite facing criticism during his tenure at Saint-Etienne for unsuccessful signings, Comolli’s reputation was later restored with successful spells at Galatasaray and Toulouse.
After leading Toulouse to success in the Coupe de France and securing a spot in the Europa League, Comolli’s potential appointment as Milan’s CEO has been endorsed by renowned statistician Billy Beane. With over 30 years of experience in football operations, Comolli is seen as a highly suitable candidate for the Rossoneri.
