Former Manchester United and Liverpool midfielder Paul Ince is not entirely convinced that Mohamed Salah is a world-class player, questioning his technical ability.
Since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017, the Egyptian has been one of the top players in the Premier League, scoring 154 goals in 243 appearances.
His successful spell at Liverpool has seen him score 209 goals in all competitions in 340 games, establishing himself as one of the best forwards in the world.
While many consider the 31-year-old to be world class, Ince has reservations, particularly regarding his technical skills.
‘Is he a world-class goalscorer? Yes,’ Ince told talkSPORT. ‘I think his record speaks for itself.
‘Is he a world-class player, technically? I wouldn’t say so. I think sometimes when he cuts in on his left foot and puts balls into the box, they are not great.
‘But as a world-class player in terms of scoring goals and creating opportunities, I think yes.’

Earlier this season, Jurgen Klopp explained why he believes Salah is world class, citing the forward’s ability to adapt his playing style after joining Liverpool from Roma and adjusting again with the arrival of Darwin Nunez.
‘The young Mo was a super fast player who could make runs in behind with Dzeko controlling the ball or deflecting it,’ said Klopp.
‘Here at Liverpool, he had to adapt and play a different role, with Bobby Firmino often taking on the playmaker role.

‘You don’t need two players dropping deep; you need players in the box. When Darwin plays, we have another fast player which changes Mo’s role.
‘He’s intelligent enough to adapt to these changes. He has developed immensely since arriving and has been world class in all aspects. That’s the highest praise you can give a player.’
