Ethan Wheatley, a young player from Manchester United, shared that Bruno Fernandes promised to assist him moments before he made his senior debut against Sheffield United. Wheatley, aged 18, became the 250th academy graduate to debut for United when he came off the bench during the match against the Blades. Despite Fernandes’ determination to set him up for a goal, Wheatley was unable to score. Fernandes, the standout player for United, scored a penalty and a sublime goal from 25 yards out in the match. Although he couldn’t assist Wheatley, Fernandes is confident the young player will have more opportunities to score in the future.
