Newey lascia Red Bull! Dream team con Hamilton in Ferrari?

According to Motorsport Total.com, the Brit has already submitted his resignation to the current world championship team! Initially, Auto Motor und Sport reported on Newey’s impending departure. The reason for Newey’s resignation is the power struggle that has been raging at Red Bull for weeks in the wake of the controversy surrounding team principal Christian Horner. Despite signing a new contract just last year, the recent behavior of the team principal is said to have finally convinced the design guru to leave – particularly in regards to his own treatment, as Newey has reportedly felt a lack of appreciation for his work and a significant cooling of the relationship between the two Brits.

Ferrari or Aston Martin: Where will Newey go? Speculation has been rife in the Formula 1 paddock for some time about Newey’s potential move to Ferrari, where the Brit could form the new dream team for Maranello alongside compatriot Lewis Hamilton and help bring new glory to the Scuderia with the rule changes planned for 2026.

However, Aston Martin also sees opportunities to secure Newey’s services with the deep pockets of owner Lawrence Stroll, especially considering that the designer could remain in the UK with his family. Rumors suggest that the Canadian billionaire is offering Newey 100 million for a four-year deal.

The speed at which Newey can actually exit his Red Bull contract and how long he could be banned from engaging with the competition are currently still subjects of negotiations surrounding the departure of the coveted design guru.

But one thing is certain: After nearly two decades, seven drivers’ championships, and six constructors’ titles, Newey’s stint in Milton Keynes comes to an end, with potentially two more titles to come to add to his illustrious collection with the dominantly performing RB20 until the end of the season. Previously, the Brit had also built championship-winning cars for Williams and McLaren.

However, Newey never made a secret of his admiration for Lewis Hamilton and the allure of one day working with the record world champion. At Ferrari, this dream could now become a reality.
