ATP Montecarlo: Sinner e Djokovic in finale, favoriti dai bookmaker. Chi sarà il prossimo Principe?
Time flies, inexorably. And in the blink of an eye, the first “important” week of the year on clay has also passed, the one of the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters, which has provided many answers and embraced some old friends in difficulty (read Tsitsipas). No particular surprise reaches today’s semifinal…at least for the editorial staff of Ubitennis, which had previously outlined a picture of the main outsiders well reflected by what has been seen on the court. Two outsiders and two confirmations, as the other two semifinalists are the top two players in the world, naturally even more favored when reaching Saturday.
Among the two, Jannik Sinner takes the lead, the tennis player, ranking aside, currently the strongest on the planet. The South Tyrolean arrives with the wind in his sails to this semifinal, after another tournament played at a very high level and where he also managed to keep in check the one who defeated him here in Monte Carlo last year, Holger Rune. He confirmed his second-place ranking and arrives with good prospects in the semifinal against Stefanos Tsitsipas…who, to be honest, has finally found his best form again, or at least is very close to it. The Greek, champion here in 2021 and 2022, has reached the semifinals two years later, without dropping a set.
But above all, showing a high-quality tennis that leads to some reflection on the too unbalanced head-to-head in favor of Sinner (1.33-3.35 with various bookmakers) and leaning towards his victory, but at least in three sets: a selection paid 3.55 times the stake on certain platforms. Higher odds even than the one that would reward Sinner’s third 1000 career victory, which is worth 2.10 times the stake on some platforms. On others, there are bonus odds up to 8.00 for newly registered users. Definitely favorable, although it can only be played when the program is not in progress, so before the start and after the end.
In the other semifinal, the clear favorite is world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, who has never come so close to victory here in Monte Carlo since lifting the trophy in 2015. The Serbian, along with Tsitsipas, is the other player to reach the semifinals with an immaculate path, without losing a single set, and will today play the 77th 1000 career semifinal. Obviously, he is a super favorite against Casper Ruud, who has still found an important result almost a year after the Roland Garros final lost against the Serbian. It is hard to imagine a different outcome from Nole’s victory, as he chases his third title in Monte Carlo, which would allow him to complete the Triple Golden Masters (winning at least 3 times all the 1000 tournaments).
As from the beginning of the week, he is therefore the second favorite for the final victory, at 2.50 on some platforms. Like for Sinner, there is also an enticing bonus for new users, allowing them to win 8 times the stake played, in this case promoted by certain bookmakers. And when Nole reaches the semifinals, when he starts to “smell blood,” betting against him can often prove counterproductive.
